water change

i have a 65 gallon tank.its be running about two years now.all my water test are normal.when ever i do a 30% water change my water clouds up for about 7 days than clears up.is this normal or am i doing something wrong.

How often do you do your water changes? Do you also change your filter medium at that time as well? Sounds like it is experiencing a "mini-cycle".

Sounds like the substrate getting disturbed. Do you vacuum the gravel? What kind of substrate is it?

There is always some disturbance of the gravel and/or substrate during water changes and vacuuming. One routine I use is to vacuum when I change the water. Let the filter take out the bigger "chunks", and the following day clean the filter media. This will likely clear up the water faster. A 30% water change on a 65 is not likely to cause a mini-cycle on a 2 year old tank unless the parameters are screwed up to begin with.

Ya i was doing the same to my tank too and cause i moved all my plants i decided to clean the gravel a little better and my tank has been cloudy for a few days now but i'm sure it'll go away cause it alwasy does =)
