This information comes directly from Milwaukee water works, the point is if its unsafe to drink do you think its fair to force your fish to live in it, yes water changes are good but beware of what you are putting back into the tank.

FAQs - Water Quality and Public Health

Do not drink from hot water tap

Water from the hot water faucet should not be used for drinking or food or beverage preparation. Hot water systems (tanks, boilers) contain metallic parts that corrode over time and contaminate the water. Hot water is more corrosive than cold water and is more likely to contain unhealthy compounds.

I've never used anything but 100% cold tap water to consume personally, and the same for any water change. If its a huge difference in temperature (MidWest winters!), I'd use a small extra aquarium water heater in the bottom of the water change bucket. Takes longer, but my fish are counting on me to care for them properly.
