I was looking for a post I saw awhile back about making your own chiller so that I could thank the person who suggested a cooler, tubing and an ice chest.
My tank temp recently hit 88 while I was away for a weekend. I went to the hardware store and bought 20 feet of 1/2 inch (inside diameter) tubing ($8.00) and ran this from my power head into a cooler filled with ice. I had to prime the tube by pushing water into it but once it got started it worked great! Overnight my temp went down to 80. I could immediately tell that the fish liked it because they all started swimming around the tube that was supplying the cool water.
Anyway, thank you to whomever posted the instructions for the water chiller.
