water temp. with goldfish

I have a 55 gal. tank and have goldfish. What water temp is best for them? I have this heater that is very hard to judge and I'm thinking about getting a new one. Is 70 too high? *GOLDFISH*

i wouldnt go past 68, temperatures vary for different kinds of goldfish. for the fancy tails you want warmer temps (high 60s, low 70s). For the commons or a comets/koi, you want mid 60s. hope this helps

Just to add, not sure where you live but room temp should be fine, so you probably dont need a heater unless you keep your inside temps below 65.
