Ok....I recently cleaned my tank and the next day I noticed a really weird white growth starting on my gravel. Not knowing what it was I just left it. The next day it had spread twice as much.

Anyway I decided just to syphon it off the gravel and clean the rock. The next day it was back and covered just as much as before I cleaned it. I have absolutely no idea what this is. The tank is 6 months old and I have never seen this before. The only thing I can think of is because this is the end I feed the fish???

Has anyone experienced, or seen this in their, or someone elses tank?? Here's a link. Clink on the growth album.

I've had similar growth on my bogwood but I recently added a couple of Red/Orange Chromides and they've been feasting on it ever since. So much so that they're not bothered about flakes!!!

My Tank's only approaching 2 months old though.

I was planning on getting a Bristlenose Catfish to help with the removal but I notice you have two and they don't seem to be reducing the growth. I really thought they'd have loved to get stuck into that stuff.

Might be an idea to see if more experienced aquarists have anything to add.
