weird stringy stuff in my tank

hahah so "weird stringy stuff" sounds pretty damn weird for me to say that but ya im a newb with this stuff wat can ya do lol. Well anyways in my tank mostly only the plants i got these weird stringy and hairy looking thing growing on em. It looks almost as if its from the ocean. If any of u guys no wat im talkemn about and could fill me in on some stuff like wat it is, is it bad or good, or if it really doesn't mateter. WEll thats all from me soo help out plzzz

Are they white and branching of the stems? I think those would qaulify as being roots. Don't worry mine are doing that to it just means you can cut them and make more plants, but don't do it until you have learnt how.

lol no i would no if they were roots, im no blond hahah, but they come out from the leaves and stuff and it looks almost like cob webs. Any ideas?

yea once in awhile when i have to move the rocks around and this is in the ciclid discusion cuz...i dunno there is an oscar in there and im jus trying to get some help. lol

If its green then may be an algae growth.

its uhh kind of like off white i guess it looks like cob webs really, and uh im guessings its algae cuz when i left for school and came back it was alll gone

Could have been some type of mold also. Maybe a plant was rotting a little.
