WEIRD STUFF IN MY TANK

It's been 4 days since water has been in my tank. I am doing the fishless method by adding ammonia to 5 ppm. BUT, theres white web like substances hanging from my decors..... W*F is this crud???? It's worrying me. and also no fish is in my tank.

Never had any experience with how you're describing. I would rinse all of the decor with coldwater and see what happens. Put it back in your tank and leave it for a few days to see if it comes back.

It might just be bacteria. I would do as smalltank3 saids and wash it off, then put it back in your tank and see what happens

Make sure you don't use any soap! Soap should never be used on anything from a fish tank.

It's not unusual to have a little fungus grow while you're cycling. Remember, a healthy tank has many biological processes going on, so it's not a sterile environment. Occasionally you'll have something grow in the tank that you weren't expecting.

I would just rinse and place back in the tank. I wouldnt scrub it but get the big stuff off. Can you get a pic of it?

My guess is that it's just the stuff that accumulated on the decor while it was sitting on the shelf. It's not anything to worry about, like everyone said, just rinse it off and put it back in the tank.
