Well, now I have Ich.

I noticed this morning a fish of mine has ich. I think I know where it came from (I'm a dumb a**, more on that later.) I got Cure-Ick and I was wondering some things from those of you that have used it.
I know it says it doesn't treat inverts. Do inverts get ich? I wanted to put it in with my frog anyway, but I want to make sure I don't make the problem worse.

Also, I know they say not to mix multiple treatments but I was wondering.
Should I raise the temp?
Keep the lighs on or off?
Cover the tank?
I plan on treating for at least 10 day or a week after the cysts are gone, is that ok?
Also, I have tetras so I plan on 1/2 dosing, according to the directions, will the treatment then take longer? I plan on vaccuuming the gravel first also and I know it says to remove filter media but keep the water circulating, does this include my bio-wheel?
I know everybody does something different, but if anyone can give mme their suggestion, it would be appreciated.
Thanks.

I would say just follow the instructions on the bottle/packet on temps.

You can keep lights on (the usual 10 to 12 hours) and you don't have to cover the tank.

You should remove any filter media containing carbon. The bio wheel can stay where it is, and of course, keep the filter running. If your cartridge/insert contains carbon, take it out. I assume it's a Penguin filter, and what you can do is remove the carbon from inside it by making a slit in it and shaking the carbon out (this only works when the filter cartridge is dry.

A water change before treatment is an excellent idea.

The treatment should take just as long at half dose. Usually, 10 days is about right, although it can take longer.

Ok, I wasn't sure, I read this also. I don't think there is any real reason to not feed the fish while this is going on, but the bottle didn't specify. I thought, if anything, the ammonia and nitrite levels may be a little unstable onc ethis is added and this might help with the fact. I do plan on doing regular water changes throughout this process. Any thoughts?

Is your tank cycling? If so, you will need to carry out the water changes to keep ammonia and nitrites low.

If you're treating for 10 days, I would probably hold off on the water changes the extra few days unless you're cycling.

The meds shouldn't affect your cycle or harm the bacteria.

Yes, feed as normal while you're medicating.

Nope, my tank finally stop cycling about a month ago. I have kept tabs on the levels since though and have had no problems with anything in particular. Right before medicating 7.5 pH, 0 ammonia, 0 nitrates. The bottle says to treat for 3 days and if not cleared up do a 25% change and retreat for 3 more days. This sounded pretty sensible so I think I will stick with the every three day changes (maybe of a little less %) unless someone tells me otherwise.
I do have tetras so I'm 1/2 dosing already. I'd like to not do the water changes altogether until the process is over but I'm a little afriad of overmeding the tetras. ???
