Well water

Hi all. I'm wondering if I should use a water conditioner given I don't have chlorinated water. TBH I have no idea what might be in the water though there is a water softener in the house. Charlie seems to be doing fine in it (he's lived through all the ignorance/abuse possible thus far).

FYI: Charlie is a fantail goldfish

Dechlorinator also helps with heavy metals, such as iron, which are common in well water.

Definitely use a dechlorinator. Even if you are not sure if the water is chlorinated, other chemicals in your water can damage helpful bacteria in your fish tank if you don't treat the water.

Okay. Given I live on the Iron Range, the chances of iron in the well water are very high.
