what carbon is recommended/preferred?

the title is pretty much self explanatory--I am using Marineland activated carbon, and I was wondering if anyone recommends something else (whether it be personal preferrence or proven effectiveness)

i know some people do and do not use carbon for various reasons--is it not necessarilily necessary in reef tanks?

I have a big box of the eheim stuff so I'm getting rid of that. Seems good enough, no evidence of leaching phosphate.

I like carbon as I don't like yellowed water

i never use it, have never had a reason too, only time i could think of useing it woul dbe as an emergency thing if something poluted the tank.

I know when I had my fresh water I always used Black Diamond. You can buy it in large 5 lb containers and refill your media bags with it.

I use the marineland too. I would recommend it, because it worked really good for my tank.
Even i would like to know if there is anything stronger because that stuff never really got the green color out of my water....

carbon wont take green out of yer water. Yer green is far beyond carbons scope
