I'm wanting to get a new catfish for my 45 gal. tank. I want one that is medium sized but wont eat my other fish. I was thinking about getting a larger Synodontis species that my LFS carries. I'm also thinking about getting a Spotted or Striped Raphael Cat but I want to hear some suggestions before i decide. Thanks

i just purchased 2 spotted raphael cats a little over a month ago, if you want soemthing to look at, they are not the ones, mine hide inside a cave from the driftwood until they smell the food that i add then they come out. there pretty cool looking just not the most active fish. I would suggest some cories but thats just because i love cories haha or some yoyo or tiger loaches, they are cool too

go for a bumble bee catfish, depending on if its asian or not then the size can vary from 4" max to 8" max size, they are very reclusive but are so fun to watch when they do come out and they like to play peek-a-boo.

Hoplo catfish! Like big cories, so they like a little group. Get to 5", don't eat other fish at all, don't hide, cheap, unfortunately hard to find in stores.

Um, I just read your sig... are you putting more catfish in with the current stock in your 45g? Because those plecos are probably territorial and probably won't like another catfish, let alone another pleco. If anything, you could get a few more cories to boost their school, but that's about it for the bottom.

No its definitely not that. I havent been able to find info on it anywhere. It looks like a Sailfin to me. But on its back it has a few large dark spots on it. It doesnt seem to be territorial, in fact it stays in the same cave as the clown. Im currently working on remodeling my tank so i have more room at the bottom for catfish.

I got 3 more Peppered Cories because they didnt have any other catfish that i liked. I think i got 2 males and 1 female but its kind of hard to tell because they are so small. I'll post some pics if i can get some.
