I decided I want to keep cichlids in my 20galH tank. Rams(microgeophagus sp.) interest me. I also thought angels might be a good compliment. Will these work together, and will angel(s) be comfortable in my size tank?

Ya of course C-man's rite. I've got 6 rams and 4 angels 4 discus in a single 55 gal tank. U could mix both in a bigger tank. I think this would suffix either. U can either hv 2 pairs of angels in ur tank or 3 pairs of rams but i dont think both will fit in such a small space.

Well i have heard many account of rams nipping at the fins of the slower moving angels. I have 2 German Blue (Microgeophagus ramirezi) and one angel in a 45 gallon, and as of yet have not witnessed any problems.

Understand too that a each species gets older, they will become more teritorial, and 20 gallons to go around is'nt going to be a lot of room.

Which ram were you thinking of getting, Microgeophagus ramirezi (German Blue Ram) , or Microgeophagus altispinosa (Bolivian Ram)?

Well, your tank is too small to house both of them, and i don't think even just two angels by themselves would do good in a 20 gal high:(

You could have a few german blue rams though, since they are fairly small:)

Maybe for the bottom you could have a few cories;)

If the tank was larger the angels may or may not bully the rams, i guess it depends on the personality of the angels
