What is the best protein skimmer?

Could anyone point me to the right skimmer. I have two skimmers in mind, the Ramora C w/ MaxiJet 1200 Kit or the aquamedic turboflotor t100 SL. Right now I have a 20gallons reef tank and plan to upgrade it to a 75gallons soon. The turboflotor is a little bit cheaper but I don't know if it is the best bang for the bucks for now and the future. Which one should I purchase guys?

Wait until you upsize to the 75 and go with the Aqua Remora Pro with the mag pump upgrade, you won't be disappointed.

The remora is a better skimmer, but both are high quality, personally I would go with the remora.

If both are high quality, what make the ramora better then the aquamedic turboflotor t1000? If I'm not mistaken, the t100 could handle more gallons than the ramora aqua C so isn't the t1000 a more better choice for a bigger tank?

I really like my Turboflotor 1000 Multi!! Not sure which is the best I think that it depends on your tank setup and all. But this one is working GREAT for me.

They can both be high quality...its more personal preference. Ferrari or Lambo??

The remora is easier to tune i.m.o. But both are good skimmers

That's what I am going to buy, I can't wait. I've heard nothing but good things about the remora. Hey guys the remora and urchin are same, right? I mean except for one is hob and one is in-sump. But basically the same.

I am pretty sure they are nearly the same, except for the differences you have already mentioned. I mean, they are both made from AquaC....

yes they are the same, the urchin is the insump version of the remora hob. If your tank is 70+ g you should go with the remora pro. Also, get the pump upgrade you will be all set then.....

the tank I just setup is a 37 so I will probably go with the basic w/ the maxi 1200. The pro w/mag is so tempting it might be overkill though.

You can never have overkill, and I would go the extra $$ now as I know you will be bitten by the bug and want to upgrade eventually.........everyone does......bet you are into a 75 or more before a year is out

yeah I know, it' s horrible my newest tank isn't even done cycling and I have an offer for a 75g. I wish that I could afford the lr.
