What is this fish?

Okay, I found him in the local creek.
I live in Northwest Florida.
It's a clear cold creek,pretty fast water as well.
It has a dark blue stripe down the center.Lemon yellow going into white , into red fins.The very tip of it's fins are red.The rest of the body is silvery yellow green.

They are usually grouped into about five fish under roots directly in the current.

Someone told me it was a Shad......were they right?

Very nice. Native species are some of the funnest to keep because you can acctually collect them yourself! How cool is that!

I know that spikekillifish on this forum keeps almost all Native species. He goes out to the canal out back dips a net and....boom! :D So cool.

Very cool find. And good luck on any other Native Species!

It is going at 70 degrees, i'm working on spawing them.
They live in cooler waters than tropicals.
I now have, seven of them.
I'm starting a breeding program for native fish for the aquarium.
