What is this thing?

I've had this 2 Parrot fish for a long time. Over nine years.
The other day Pauly's color changed from orange to pink.
Then the next days later this growth appeared. It came out of his anuis. You could see him passing it.
Then it stopped.
He still is eating very little.

It's still there. Doesn't seem to have gotten any larger since it appeared.
