Have you already had it, do you have it, or are you waiting to have a tank for it ?

Just curious, I know some people like the ultra rare, some like specific colors etc.

Mine would definitely have to be a black ghost knife. :) Will be waiting til I get my own house and then can afford a large tank for it. I'm hoping my fiance doesn't mind a 10 foot tank haha..
What is yours?

I love Anthias!!! i would love to have a tank full of them one day

ALL OF THEM ARE BEAUTIFUL :)

All anthias are born female; if a dominant male perishes, the largest female of the group will often change into a male to take its place. This may lead to squabbling between the next largest male, who sees an opportunity to advance, and the largest female, whose hormones are surging with testosterone. This can turn quite vicious in the limited confines of captivity.

I am intrigue with something called a "cow fish". My husband was having cardiac surgery and I was in a waiting room with an fairly large aquarium in the center of the room and this fish kept following me around and watching - like a puppy dog wanting attention. It was so very cute and personable. I had never seen anything like it before so I took his picture and found out what it was. It was then I found out that they are only cute when little and when they get upset they can poison your tank.

Those are tricky, Thyra! My dentist in Florida had one and it killed off its tankmates 3times when it got 'stressed' by folks just watching it (over a 2 year period). Dentist finally ended up not putting in new tankmates, so 'Bully' was left on his own in the 125gallon tank. (Dentist set up a 2nd aquarium in the waiting room for the other fish he had wanted to keep with Bully.)

I agree, the box-fish are very personable, personalities much like what freshwater Oscars are known for.

Annularis angel (aka blue ring angel) would be the eventual "goal." More realistically (size wise), a potters angel :)

Mandarins are gorgeous, too bad their feeding requirements aren't suitable for small tanks.

OC those are spectacular, they do look a bit like a goby other than the split fin under their chest imo.

Just adding to the list.

I have had gsp's and various saltwater puffers in the past. I think I have 3 dream fish, eventually when we have a place settled, I would like to have a mbu puffer, juvenile to begin with, in a tank large enough for an adult, somewhere around 400 gal. Then a few EBJD's with an albino and Tiger Oscar.

I always thought it would be cool if you could set up some sort of highly pressurized tank for some ocean floor sea creatures. Weird stuff down there... weird stuff that would be awesome in my living room.

I've been considering a career change for the last 6 months, Technology is fun, however I think I'd enjoy going back to school and focusing on marine biology and eventually working at an aquarium. Might be easier than finding a house large enough for all the tanks ... :D

EXh - a couple of friends chartered a fishing boat on the Colombia this past week end - first the wife caught a 6 foot Sturgeon and then shortly later the husband out did her with a 7 foot. Its a "catch and release" for the big ones like that and I gather they measure them by getting them along side the boat. The wife said she fought with it for a half an hour then the captain secured it so it could pull the boat around for another half an hour and then they were able to get it along side to measure and release. I don't think they are usually that easy and frequently caught in that size range.
