I was just wanted to know what is this thing about dying fish?I know GeraldTheMouse has it.Its that one thing about Dying painted fish or something like that.Are people dying fish colors or something?

they inject the fish with dyes to make them more colorfull and it shortens the life of if not kills the fish...

Well I checked Geralds signature... And what a buch of Jerks! they go dye fish killing them and shortning there life span.Sure it looks pretty but that does not last long if there killing them.There even Dying OSCARS!!!

Buy carefully at your lfs's. If you check to see what a fish is supposed to look like naturally before you purchase them you can usually avoid unintentionally getting dyed fish.

i dont go to king neptunes by my house any more becuase they have alot of dyed fish.i refuse to go to a store with dyed fish

i wont go to petexpress anymore the one by my house sells dyed fish

the petco near my house is clean dunno about petland or petsmart... or animal dreamland... or the salt water store...

You should tell your LFS to stop selling the dyed fish, if not, just stop going to them all together.

Well Gerald your SIG had a huge impact on me and If I see any dyed fish at my LFS i'am not going to buy from there anymore and then I'am going to spread the word about Dying and painting fish.It's horrible.

i've gotten into trouble on more than one occassion for explaining the horrors of dyed fish at the fish stores i go to. if i see anyone taking any interest in some dyed fish i make a big effort to explain what torture that fish has gone through, i think i've single handedly ruined the market for dyed fish in my area

Has anyone heard of the genetics that some do on fish to make them actually glow in the dark. Now thats rediculous. You can read about them on GloFish® Welcome They were used as an expieriment to help detect pollutants and are now for sale in some LFS.

micah, but those aren't dyed, they are altered genetically.

The FDA approved glofish to be sold: FDA Statement Regarding Glofish

These glofish supposedly live as long as a normal danio, but they have been altered to 'glow.'
