What killed my danio????

I would like to know any info on what killed my danio. See picture enclosed of dead fish. We tried treating him with quick cure and meds for fungus. After about 4 days he started to develop a deformation and not really swimming any more, so my girlfriend put it out of it's missery. I would just like to know any info on what it was and if my other fish could get it. Sorry for it being blurry.

If he was in the 10gal, that tank was grossly overstocked and water quality was probably very poor. When you have bad water quality that will only help the fungus grow. I can't really see the sore very well in your picture, so a clearer picture would help. But what deformity are you talking about? It may have been a combination of ammonia poisoning/sickness. Have you added any new fish lately? This could spread to your other fish IMO, you need to figure out what it is.

All fish have been in that tank for months. Water quality is not an issue, I take very good care of my tanks and do water changes and gravel cleanings weekly. You can't tell in the picture, but before he died you could see that he was becoming hump backed, so to say.

Hmm, if all water params were good, maybe some sort of internal growth if he was old? It is odd to have such a large lesion on the outside though, seems like something must have infected him.

Yeah, he was nearly 3 years old. Have had him for a really long time. Just wanted to learn a little more about it, and see if indeed it was treatable.
