Hi everyone. I am in the process of cycling a new freshwater 75 gallon tank. Right now I am planning on filling it with eight to ten medium sized (6 to 7 inch) fish. i think the larger fish are a lot more interesting than tetras or guppies or other smaller fish. Do you guys have any ideas of what kind of fish I could put in there? Ph is 7.2, Kh is 5. Plenty of filtration. Thanks!

You could get one really REALLY happy betta  ;D  lol

I've never kept chiclids....but I bet thats what other people will suggest for your tank.  Personally....I would fill the bottom with flourite, add some co2 and LOTS of live plants, and get about a zillion cardinal tetras....that would be so cool :)

But thats just my opinion :)

I disagree with the oscar idea. They need 50 gallons each so you could only put one oscar and a large pleco in your tank.

Some large gouramis or large rainbows would be nice. For large bottom feeders you could put one rainbow shark, one red-tailed shark, or a school of clown loaches.

How about a Rainbow fish tank? If you can, they are great looking in different varieties of small schools. Throw in SAE's, Oto's, Corys, Clown Loaches, Amano Shrimp, Porthole Cats, Bristlenose Cats, a Peckolita Pulcher, Black Kuhli Loaches (Pangio javanicus) maybe a school of Giant Danio or Congo Tetra or Red Congos (Alestes imberi) too. Clown Rasbora look nice. Of course there are many wonderful schooling Barbs, i.e., Checker, Clown, Golden, Ticto, Black Ruby, etc.
