Well i bought some fish on ebay and I was supposed to get some leulipi and Marliei, but the seller screwed up and sent me 13 of these guys. I was just curious the type of Frontosa they were....
Hmmmm well we know he isn't a 7-striped so he isn't a Kigoma. It looks as though he has a tint of yellow to him so that means we could really rule out Zaire (one of the most sought after kinds). Well....wow this is tough because most kinds look pretty much alike.
Hope you got a big tank! Something along the lines of...oh idk....200gals? Yo are gonna need it if you keep all 13 to full grown adults. But they make a mighty fine show tank if you can house them.
Looks like a burundi. If it isn't sold as something else, you can usually assume it is a burundi as everything else is so much pricier.
Did you see some japanese ichthyologists have split frontosa into 2 species rather than one? I don't have the details they used, but it's quite controversial.
Sorry to say, but I am sending the fish to rightful owner. Wish I could keep them, but I only have a 55 gallon right now, and I doubt 13 could live there.... what is the minimum for a frontosa anyway?
I'm not sure, but not so much bigger than a 55. Frontosa are so inactive that as long as you can keep water quality up to snuff you can pack them in. 4 foot * 18 * 18 inches
