I wanted to know what kind of ph i need to take the best care of my chichlids. And also how hard should the water be, I'm still kind on new to the whole fish world, but it is something I really enjoy. Does it depend on the type of chichlid for ph and hardness or are they all about the same? Any info you can give me will make me very happy thank you.

Depends what cichlids - there are species of apistogramma thar won't spawn if the pH is above 5.5, and tilapia species that live in pH 9 and 10 - now that's a bit of a range!
As a generalisation South American (and W African) cichlids prefer soft, acidic water thro to neutral, Central American moderate hardness and neutral pH of 7 and African RiftLAke cichlids hard water pH 8 and above. But the above is a real generalisation
