I vote gold rams, everyone has GBRs and Bolivians these days.

I agree with Helena though, they don't really fit into any of the tanks in your sig, where do you plan to put them?

You don't really have a tank that would be compatible with any type of rams right now. Rams are really hard to keep alive since they need perfect water quality. Absolutely NO ammonia or nitrites are a necessity. Unless you wanted to set up a new tank, cycle it, and be willing to do lots of water changes, I would suggest ditching this idea.

walmart has a 5g hex for like $30. it's just like the eclipse one but a ripoff. i think it's called aquatech or something. it works pretty well. i think my roommate had that one and it seemed to work well

note: not a ripoff by value, but rather a similar copycat brand

GBR's really arent that hard to take care of. I dont know what the hell everyone
is talking about. The only thing is GBR's get stressed really easily. So make sure you dont have any tank mates that pick on the GBR's and also acclimate them properly

Walmart also has 10g starter kits for a decent price. Comes with everything you need. They also sell Minibow kits.
Yup, they have 10g "kits" w/incandescent lamps for like $40 and "kits" w/flourescent (sp?) lights for like $50. (I'd go with the flourescent myself) The "kits" however do not come with Heater, Gravel, plants or any other type of decoration. so your best to add a lil more money to purchase some the needed "add ons"

As far as the ram choices, I really like the GBR's however finding them with really nice coloring is tough, the Bolivians are also very pretty, and in some cases nearly as colorful. In my area, I have found only one store that has quality examples of both (It's a mom n' pop shop, not a mega-chain store)

As has been mentioned, Rams (and really any fish, if you think about it) require well kept water, if your on top of your maint. you shouldn't have trouble keeping a nice pair of rams long term in a 10g set-up (obviously cycle the tank first ;) )

If you get a used tank you could get a 20 or maybe even 30 gallon for around $50. Check ebay and other sites like that. In fact I found someone selling a 55 gallon tank with stand, filter, heater, etc. for $50. I know awesome deal aye.
