What rocks too use

if i was starting a cichlid tank what rocks would i use thinking of doing it in the future.

Very broad question. Most any rocks will do. What kind can you get your hands on?

i can only really get ocean rocks really and maybe some slate i would prefer a more the ocean rock look but can i use it?

i'm not sure the name of the rock but if you are doing africans there are these porous rocks that come in light yellow/ cream and also in a deep red. they are kind of like pumice they highten the pH to around 8.0-8.4 which my cichlids love. also they seem to like slate to rub against.

but limestone would be able to be used in an african tank?
slate is a good choice though

In my african tank, I have "lace rock" I think its called... It's basically lava rock haha

I got my rocks out of my back garden. Did the vinegar test and they didnt fizz so i put them into my saulosi tank

River Rock that you get at a landscaping place will work great also.
