K, look at all these particles floating through my water.
I have added no new fish or plants or sand.

I DID treat the ich with that blue medication stuff as well as peroxide.
I have done 100% water changes 4 times, so I know the meds are gone.
The particles showed up out of nowhere about three days ago.
I just did a 100% water change and now they are 'back'.
As far as I can see they arent alive, at least not in the animal sense.
The fish seem unbothered by it as do the plants. (well, my guppy grass isnt doing so great because my bulb was out for 2 days)
That's it though.

Does anyone have an idea as to what this is? I've never seen it before. :confused:

How does one go about doing a 100% water change? I've thought about this for a while... maybe I'm overthinking it?
Could it be that the plants are releasing some sort of.... "underwater" pollen?

Oh? When I had it and I cranked up the heat in my tank to get it free floating so I could kill it it was like that but only for a very very short time. Mind you I was doing like a billion and ten water changes at that time too to try and get ride of it so I was probably stirring everything up then too.

This looks like my tank!

I, too, have this same condition. It appeared after I raised the temperature of my tank to about 85F. I was trying to treat for suspected ick. I was hoping this was the free swimming stage and that I was killing it. Based on what I'm reading, however, this stage can't be seen. I don't know if this substance is harmful or not.

6G tank, BioWheel, carbon filter. Fish: 1 Whiptail Cat, 2 platys, 2 mollies. 2 Java Ferns.

Molly had babies, then everything died within 3 days, except the Cat. I had just done a 20% water change the night before the first death. I suspected water quality issues but everything tested ok except Ph. I tried to adjust. No symptoms other than rapid breathing, then loss of stability. I couldn't see any white spots, obvious fungal or parasite activity. I separated the orange platy and thought I could see white spots, so I tried the heat treatment. Today, the last black molly died.

Next time EVERYTHING gets quarantined and treated for two weeks.*ALL*
