what to do about J.D. and brown algea??

I have a jack dempsey in a 50 gallon tank by himself and that tank has never got brown algea befor(tank has been going for about 1 year) and now its starting to get it on the rocks and the glass, but the problem is i cant put any algea eaters in with him cuz hes one mean S.O.B he kills ne thing i put with him(probly because he was raised in a tank by himself) but am i pretty much SH** out of luck and just have to clean the rocks and glass??? or are there ne suggestions on what fish i can put in with him to eat the algea??

have you ever tried a pleco with him? if so what type? a larger one, say 8 inches might be alright because of its armored plating

you could try ottos too, i know they are small but im pretty sure most fish kinda ignore them

Might try bristle nose plecs.....those love brown algae. Not sure how aggressive your JD would be to them though.

idk guys i think i might try turning the lights off in my tank for awhile and dont feed him as much, and possibly turn the water temp down a lil. Because this guys a killer iv tried a pleco. befor and he just killed them.
