Ok I have a big snail in my tank and everytime it is on something and not in a corner my guppies attack it and he gets scared and closes up and winds up floating on top of the tank. Whats the deal and is there anything I can do for the poor little guy. I feel bad that he is being picked on litteraly lol, but am afraid of him dying if he is floating tooo long before i notice. Plus its getting annoying.

Personally, I would...

take it out & put it in another tank. I put an apple snail in with my betta & danios. The danios apparently nipped its eye stalks. It ended up dead & I came in to see my ghost shrimps with a bellyful of snail.
I have two apple snails in with my guppies & platies and they have not been harrassed at all. Do your gups have plenty of room? I don't know why yours attack the snail and mine don't.

well there are 7 guppies in my 1 5gallon tank, and a snail .What kind of snail I have no clue, but there is enough room. They only attack him when he is on the glass or decoration. What does and apple snail look like maybe thats the kind of snail I have don't know.

Are they babies? If they are they need more food than adults. Which also requires more frequent water changes. I feed my fry 3-4 times a day.
Out of curiosity are they actually picking on the live part of the snail or at his shell?

The live part, and he freaks out and goes into his shell letting go of what he is latching on to causing him to float on top of the aquarium. I don't know much about feeder guppies, but when I got them they were babies now they are about a month old or older. The oldest female however is now pregnant.
