From my research I'm starting to think there's not much I can do with this 7 gal hex. I purchased it as a way to have a tank that took up little space. Anyway I'd like to be able to have my betta with my 3 rummy nose tetras from my large tank, but most things I have read suggest that they will not be happy. I also have Green Fire tetras, pristilla tetras, and dwarf neon rainbowfish. Can any of them be happy in this tank? I was hoping to keep 1 of the 4 species. The rainbow fish are already almost 2 inches each, so I think the are too big. It just kills me to have to return all of my fish the the LFS. I want to keep at least one family together.

I think you're right in that the rainbowfish are going to be too large to keep in the 7 long term. Are the green fire tetras the ones that are about the size of neons, only they're more green? If thats the case then those ones might be most happy in a smaller tank?
