ok, well he hides A LOT... I don't think he looks exactly like either, but im hoping hes a cory and not a pleco, they already made the mistake and gave me the wrong fish once (ghost catfish) when all i ask for is a cory!! grrrr and the lady was the manager! (pet store)

Agree that it's not a cory. Likely some sort of sydontis, as Lotus pointed out - or an UD cat (which would also be a sydontis, actually).

When you go back to your LFS, you should speak to a manager about the misinformation you've been receiving. And, maybe before you go, look at as many pictures of cories as you can get your hands on (planetcatfish is a good resource) so you can distinguish them on your own :)

Edit: It looks a LOT like this shot from the link Lotus provided: http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog/mochokid/synodont/121_4.PHP. Here's another UD Cat: http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog/mochokid/synodont/334_2.PHP

Lotus hit the nail on the head this time. That is definately NOT a cory cat. Agreeing with the others, and working with fish a considerable amount of time myself, I would agree its of the Synodontis family and more specifically I would classify that cat as possibly being a Synodontis Eupterus. The fact that it's hiding a lot is very characteristic of that species as most tend to be light-shy. They sold that to you as a cory cat? Time to find a LFS with more informed management.
