Whats on my rock?

ok found this stuff growing on my LR the past few weeks and i thought it was kelp but i'm not sure there is probbly 100 little 1/4in peices of this stuff threw out my lr so does anyone got any ideas. It's red and branchy looking I'll try to take a pic later if i can.

hmm maybe but there only like this __ long so hard to tell i'm going to go take a really good look and see if they look anything like that
