Hey everyone! What's your favourite gourami!?
Dwarf, Sparkler, Thick Lipped, Giant, Ospherensis, Three Spot, Pearl, Chocolate, Noble?

Which Gouramis do you think rock? Which ones suck? No Bettas, Paradise Fish, or other Anabantids please. If it doesn't have Gourami in the name, we aren't counting it here. Thank You :D

Personally, my favourite Gourami is the Thick Lipped Gourami. It beats the Dwarf and is much heardier, more active, and much more personable and interested in people. What do YOU think!?

Yup, those are Royal Gouramis. *nods* Occasionally my LFS, the Ocean Floor will get those in stock and they are a sight to see. They really do have a air of nobility to them.

I've heard they're really picky about thier water conditions and they clamp thier fins up alot if they don't like something about thier enviorment.

Golden Gourami Blue Gourami Platinum Gourami Opaline Gourami, Albino Gourami, Three spot Gourami, Two spot Gourami- all the same fish. (Trichogaster trichopterus) and they grow to over six inches.

You are insane to have them in a ten gallon. They need a Forty, and even then they're squished.

Kissers can grow to a foot. Careful.

Really pablo?!

I'd jump on that offer (about the kuhlis) right away except I'm having water problems and I wouldn't wanna stress the poor thing out and lose it. Are they common at all in a certain area up there? *wants one now* lol.

Oh yeah, I was lookin around at Gouramis yesterday and I'd have to say the Platinum is growing on me.

this and my last post r the same fish. Same with platinum opaline and 2 spot and 3 spot and albino three spot.

Velvet Acid- I see Black and Striped Kuhlis often. I also frequently see the high yellow Kuhly (all yellow with only hints of black). Toronto has a very large Chinatown where there are all kinds of aquarium shops and I have seen albino Kuhli's there. Alternatively, befriend someone at an LFS so they can order it from you. Fish stores can order anything. They just dont want to because they're losing money if only one guy wants to buy it.

I befriended my LFS fish dude and he offers to order stuff in for me all the time- even when I only know the scientific name.

Good luck. If you really are interested in the albino Kuhli, lemme know and i will look.

BTW- I wouldn't worry about water conditions. Kuhli loaches need wet water. As long as the water is wet, and not frozen or boiling, they're fine. They are hardy like Danios. Don't fret :)

(to bolster your confidence- my friend stupidly left his Kuhli in 3" of water with no food/heater/filter for 2 months- forgot it was there. Came back. It was fine. Then it lived in a fish bowl for 2 more years only eating algae.

It looked like crap.

But if lived. :)
