Really depends on the market and fish itself. Discus are acctually very cheap when put on paper with some of these others. The only real expensive discus (relative to the others and species listed below) are the Albinos, Leopards, and snakeskin strains coming from the singapore area. Some Solid colors will fetch a good amount but not near as much as something like the albinos.

Asian Arrowana, Freshwater Rays, like lotus said Flowerhorns...however their popularity seems to have died down a bit.

ya,arowana is now the most expensive fish after all,Malaysia is the country who 'invented' flower horn.they are a chilid.Past 4 years, flower horn can cost up to 1 million ringgit, after saying that the fish can help you to strike lottery(mostly is just a mitos)sadly the beautiful fish breed very fast, every 4months they will breed up to 90 fries, that is the cause why the price drop. But now arowana is conquering the asia fish market price, depending on what type arowana they are,if im not mistaken 'Red Pearl Dragon' arowanas is the most expensive.their full grown size is about two to three feet length, the scales is about 3-4cm length.they cost up to 60 to 100 thousand.lol the price gone up so high is mainly of asian chinese believe that flower horn and arowanas bring prosperity or some sort of following the 'feng shui'.thats all i know.......
