whats wrong with my gar

My gar has started showing a mark on his head. It looks like a paper cut. He is a asain gar. In a 300 gall with another gar, juvenille shovel nose catfish, jaguar cichlidm, oscar. There hasnt been any aggression between them. I feed them gold fish. What u think happened

He probably bumped his head on something in the tank. That used to happen to my Tinfoil Barbs all of the time.

Will he be ok or will i have to change his surroundings

I would think he would be ok. I could never find out what my Tinfoil Barbs hit got scraped up on, but sometimes they got pretty bad looking scrapes and they were always fine. Maybe so a water change and put some stress coat in there.

What's an 'Asian Gar'? I've heard of people calling Hepsetus odoe (the African Pike) a 'gar'....I've heard of people calling various elongated characins from South America 'gars'....but I've NEVER heard the common name 'Asian Gar'. Any chance you could post a picture??

I dont know if it works but that is what a asain gar looks like if it does work. They are also called the needle nose gar
