AAAhhhhh another of my neons - well the last one, has succumbed to this odd disease.  This fella looks exactly like the very first one - the very front part of his lower jaw seems to have dropped, sort of like  sticking out a bit.  Only very slightly at first but it seems to get worse.  The very first sign has been a slight then increasing loss of the red stripe - from the tail end. He seems OK otherwise - but for all the others it was eventually fatal (mind you they didnt all have the jaw dropping business).  I can't see any fungus nor have they ever shown anything that would indicate they have a fungus in the mouth region.  All parameters are fine.  Anyone got any ideas??

i'm not quite sure if it matches the syptoms of a common neon tetra disease. i guess it's called neon tetra disease. i know if u do a search on 'neon tetra disease' you might find the information you're looking for.

good luck.

that was my initial thought back in Feb Arcab with the first one but apart from the loss of colouring I havent really come across any other symptoms - but it does only seemd to be my neons  :-(
Oh well he is the last one - I have topped up with Rasboras who seem to be having a great time (and love the mzzie larvae they get from my balcony tub "pond"
The jaw thing really bothered me tho - he's looking real square jawed like moby dick!

That's weird. What size tank is it? Do you have any other fish in there with them? And you say it's only the neons huh? I don't know it sounds wierd to me. Sorry. Maybe it's that Greek water! ;D
