I was looking in my hang on filter and theres these long brown thread spider web things. Is that bacteria or worms

sounds like you just have some algae growth in their. how often do you clean your filters out?

Dandre, I find the easiest way to post a picture is just click the >go advanced< button when you start a reply - then click the paperclip icon for attaching an image.
As long as it isn't more than 50KB, I believe, it will load.

does your filter have a blue comb looking thingy on the front? if so those are bacteria colonies living there for the health of your fishes. Do not scrape them off, do not hurt them, they are keeping your fishes happy and healthy. Good bacteria are our friends in the world of fish tanks.
