I recently bought 4 clown loaches, and i do realize the size factor they may present in my 30 gallon tank, but that is not my issue right now. My issue is that out of the 4 i bought, 1 is coming out!!

I have a piece of driftwood that is hollow inside, and my pleco(dubbed megatron) hides in there, but i cannot find my other Clown loaches anywhere!! i am starting to get worried that i only see one, Does anyone have any ideas. I really hope they are not dead or stuck!!

The real question is, how long has anyone known these guys to hide? PLZ HELP!

They're probably hiding somewhere in the tank. You should definitely get another one or two caves or cave-like pieces of driftwood. Loaches need somewhere to hide, and will generally come out more when they know they have a home or two to bolt back to if there's danger.

If your loaches are small, make sure there aren't any filter intakes or other places in which they could get stuck. They can be curious, and end up in trouble if things aren't sealed.

Thanks for Helping Lotus,

I actually totally forgot i have another cave they can hide in, didnt even look in there. But sure enough i found one more in there. So i hope they are just hiding. They are not really small and all caves are fare enough away from intakes on my filters.

There is plenty of nooks and crannies they can hide behind and under. I hope they become more social and come out to show their awesome colors! Thanks Again

I'm a little late on this, but my clowns like to hide in the bottom of a treasure chest that I prop up crooked on the rocks for them. There are days that all 3 of them wedge themselves in there...and to just look in the tank you'd never find them. But when it comes to feeding time, you can be assured they all come "running" out!!

Clown loaches are so much fun!!! :)
