Hello all,

It's been a while since I posted, but here goes my latest post. Basically, I've been trying to breed my bristlenose plecos that I have. My original breeding female died some months ago; however, I have not had any success with the replacement female that was the offspring of the original breeding female. Not sure what the deal is with her, she is over a year old now (probably pushing two years old now) and her physical makeup suggests that she is indeed a female (distinct lack of bristles). I currently have her and a male bristlenose in a 10-gallon mating tank that I've successfully used before; however, I am getting zero results this time around. I know bristlenoses like tight hidings spots for breeding and I have some objects in the tank just for that and I've done almost complete water change and turned down the water temp to get them "in the mood" but still with no results. Either this female bristlenose is Jodie Foster or maybe she is a underdeveloped male? I don't think she is in fact a male, as I would think if she was a male the other male Bristlenose would abuse and beat the heck of "it" as you are not supposed to have more than one male in such a small tank.

So, I guess my question is does anybody know where I can buy an adult golden bristlenose female online?

thanks--
