Where to get the best bettas?

where do you recomend getting bettas?

Petco they have nice ones, actually my Wal*mart has nice bettas, saw a BLACK one today might have to go get him

Yep, I agree with Nina. The nicest bettas I've seen have come from Petco

my bettas i had came from petsmart and they were red blue and black and always showed their fins like good fish lol

i actually had a nother post talking about another store online. but then i went more in depth and they actually were a good store and the pics showed how not to care for a betta insted of how to take care of bettas. i wasnt bashing walmart.

Our LFS has had some really nice bettas lately, and I'd always rather buy from a LFS rather than a chain store. It might be worth checking around to see who has one you really like. I know I've been to some stores that have "show quality" bettas (more expensive, of course). You may need to shop around for a few weeks to find the ideal one.

Always go for the healthiest betta you can find, even if it's not the prettiest.

Ya, I've always seen a fair selection of good quality bettas at PetCo, but like Lotus said check some of the local LFS's as well.

I have a LFS that has BIG bettas in little itty bitty bowls and they are i think $3 a piece. that is what my PetCo sell them for then the CB's are 6 dollars.

my local petsmart has nice bettas and also carry crowntails too.

My PetSmart sux, they stillhve the colored water going on and you just can't see the fish and what they look like.
the crown tails look pathetic also

your local petco. The ones in petmart are all lazy and dont move. When they die, sometimes the people leave them there for everyone to see a small jar with yellow water and a dead betta. Petco bettas are always active, they constantly spread fins at the inhabitant in the jar next to them.

walmart= 6.99
petco= $3 for female 4 for male.

just shop around, i looked at walmarts, pet smarts, local pet shops and everything till one popped out at me.
