I haven't been in the canister filter market for more than 10 years and was just wondering what's good on the Fluval/Eheim market for a 29gal goldfih tank? Thanks!
I've not used either, but the Via Aqua and the Rena Filstar are both highly regarded by one company whose business is maintaining aquariums.
Here are some links to some information about them.

These filters are cool and looks like they would save on money in the end but would something like this be right for a ten gal tank freshwater with nothing special in it(as of yet)?
I am a BIG fan of the Eheim canisters. They seem to do just what they are supposed to do, and nothing else. (most extra options seem to break down to fast, then you have to replace the whole thing!) Just my opinion. Good luck, lets seem some pics!
