ive never owned another canister besides my eheim, but I love my eheim its bein go great for me, and form what ive heard its the best. Eheims are a little bit more money but I personally think their dependability and quality is worth it

Never owned a canister before either, but went with it based on extensive reading at several aquarium forums. It is nice and quiet, very easy to clean. I've had several HOB in my lifetime, and I'm glad I went with this unit (a 2026). Others are cheaper, but seeing things like "I broke a hinge" or "it only leaks a little bit of water" were enough to make me spend the extra. Went with BigAlsOnline.com and they price-matched DrsFosterSmith.com.

I have my first canister...so far the fluval works for me. In reading, ehiem sounds like a really good filter, but its SO MUCH MORE EXPENSIVE! I heard good things about fluval so I went for that one :) If you had the money I think ehiem is a great filter...but I wouldn't know I've never had one.

*thumbsups Ehiem baby. You got to pay to play.

2 Rena xp3 would also get the job done. Heard nothing but good things, but if they were going to be run in a bedroom I would go with the Ehiem.
