I haven't heard of the second but I have the 305 on my 46 Gallon and love it. I don't have any problems and it runs great. Mine is probably due for some maintenance though since its been a few months since I opened it.

I have a Marineland C220. I think the equivalent of the tetratec 1200 is the Marineland 360C.They sell it under the Marineland name I believe in the USA

It is a good filter. The 220 lacks the flow the 360 probebly has. Lots of room for media , quiet, disconnects easy and easy to setup. The 360 is larger than my 220 so it would only hold more. If you are able..go check them out at the store and ask to open them.

thanks for the reply after a little research this is the same model as the 1200 but looked at some reviews of it and fish keepers say that it leaks and the flow decreases after time so il have to see which filter to get now but i do like the look of the 1200/360c

looks?.. its a canister filter. haha... you never see it. I thought my fluval was probably just as easy to set up, prime and disconnect when needed. It has two large sponges and then 4 or so other containers split in half for whatever other media you want... Marineland is a good company but one of their power filters broke on me after a month so I don't like them too much...Although it was probably just stuck with sand and needed cleaning.
