If theres a difference between the 2 than i hope you did your homework cause big al uses the same pic and description for the both of them.

As far as I can tell, the only difference is what type of bulb is shipped with the fixture. Here's what Custom Sealife has to say about it.

The smartlite is a 10,000k/actinic lamp
The britelite is just 10,000k

Personally i would go for the all glass, it comes with bulbs and is cheaper, besides it puts out more light thatn the others. JMO

but the reflector for CSL is much better
Soulfish I have the CSL Smartlight but I got them to substitute the stock light for a 5000K light. I am assuming you are growing plants. You will enjoy the 5000K spectrum, it is warmer than 8800k. the 8800k is a bit too white for me.

the "smartlight" is actually half actinic, half 9325K and is not recommended for plant tanks!!!! ok for marine etc. I wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot pole.

anyway the CSL fixtures are quite nice. I've had mine for almost 2 years and still on the original bulb.
