Mystery snail would be my first choice, but a 2g is pretty small for big snailie poos on the bio load. My Ramshorns are pretty small, maybe they would be a better choice, if you only have 1.

Well, as I recently discovered, Malaysian Trumpet Snails do not need a mate in order to reproduce. I stuck one in my 5gal betta tank a while back and noticed the other day I have lots of 'mini' MTS snails. Hmmmm.

in a 2g, it would probably be better to not ad anything other than the betta, but it probably woulden't hurt to add a small snail, they clean up alot of the food left over, and if your betta is anything like my betta, he won't touch any food that has fallen from the surface, so alot of food ends up on the bottom, in that case, it'd rather have snail poo than rotting food. Although my betta has a 6gal, so adding a snail was not an issue on the bio load really.

Hopefully someone else will come along with more info, I'm definitly not a snail expert, but they seem to like it here, I have probably ~400 of them now LOL. My Puffers can't keep up! LOL

I think a snail would be too much but you might be able to get away with a couple of shrimp, if the betta doesn't eat them. They have a very low bio-load and they help clean up the excess food too.

Limi ~ you probably have at least double what you think you have. MTS snails like to burrow during the day, so there are probably a bunch more that you don't see. Turn the light on at night once and see how many there are :)

If you absolutely have to do snails, I would go with a ramshorn over a mystery because of the size. Olive nerites are good algae eaters and they stay pretty small. You will still probably end up with babies though, even if you only get one because most of the time they are already pregnant when they come into your tank :(
