White bump on Pleco

My common pleco (9") has a white bump near his dorsal fin. Anybody have an idea what it is?

How big is the lump? Is it smooth or fuzzy?

You should check your ammonia, nitrites and nitrates to make sure everything is as it should be.

Hey Lotus, I checked my water earlier today, everything was fine except for the nirtrates which were high. I would also venture to say that the bump is smooth. I tried posting a pic of him earlier but it was too large. My girlfriend says she knows how to shrink the picture so hopefully that will work out. Thanks.

Kind of blurry, but it looks like an injury site to me.

My common Pleco also has his fin kind of like that later I will try to post a picture of him but mine look like he has a food pebble on his fin
