White Electric Blue?

I have 4 Electric Blue. They must be in blue color, right? But, 2 of them are turning into white color! I can only see a little bit blue color on their fins.

Any idea?

Other than a pure albino form i don't know of any White Electric Blues.

Is the white on their head? Or body? Got any pics?

Because of the light, it is hard to see the color on blue one. Sorry.

Ahh ok i thought you meant Electric Blue Haps.

Yeah what you have above is Pseudotropheus socolofi, the blue one at least a Mbuna from Malawi. But again other than a normal Albino form i havn't seen or heard of a white color form. The white is also a type of Mbuna just not sure which....quite possible another socolofi or socolofi mix.

But, when the time I bought them from Petstore all of them were blue!! They were same!!

Oh, then it could be the dominace showing in them. Do the white ones kinda lurk around in the corners or anything?

No, they act nomal.

Its my humble understanding that the dominant male will color, and the other males will stay recessive, until the dominant one is removed from status (the tank). When the colored one is removed, then the runner up will nearly instantly color. I have seen it in my lfs tanks. I think that C-man had it right re: dominance, unless I am mistaken….
