 While cleaning out my filter today, I noticed that one of my neon tetras has a whitish patch on his back around, but not on, the dorsal fin.

Anyone know what this could be?? Parameters are normal for this 20 G tank (0,0, and 10), and fish is acting fine so far. The tank's been running for 5 months, and I've had the neons about that long as well.

If it's fungus, then I guess I could buy a treatment. But if it's neon tetra disease, then I should euthanize him before others are infected, right?

What would you do??

Well, with no responses, I chose saving the rest of the tank by removing the tetra. Tough decision, but the rest of the fish seem fine.

If it was NTD it is better to remove the fish before death. The spores don't usually burst out till close the fish is close to death but there is not alot you can do to cure it anyway. I think you made the right choice.
