Awwww. I feel bad someone ate the new angelfish. Thought they were compatible with most of my guys, but also added two new boys last week.

It's like a clue game..... WHO IS THE CULPRIT, you think?

Top contenders.
Severum
T bar cichlid
Gouramis.
Leporinus fasceitus sp?
blood fin tetra.

Cast your vote and advise so as not to commit another fish death! thanks. :(

I have angels and severums in two tanks and they tend to ignore each other. If the size of the angel fish was double the size of the severum's extended mouth, it is unlikely. A full grown severum will try to eat small angel fry. Was your new angel less than a dime in size? If yes, and your Severum is adult, it is possible.

I also discard the Gouramis and the blood fin tetra.

Don't know anything about the T bar cichlid or the Leporinus fasceitus sp
if you find out, please post it. I am curious to find out.

Leporinus info can be found at http://fishprofiles.com/profiles/fw/characins/bbleporinus.asp
NEAT fish.
T bar info here although not a great picture. My look much more defined and prettier. http://fishprofiles.com/profiles/fw/cichlids/tbar.asp
Sorry you have to copy and paste.
The angel was new and might not have been healthy. Was about full size and the severums are about 3 inches. But, can you imagine returning just the head of a fish and saying he died before he got eaten??? NOT going to try that one!!!!

Angel was 2-3". Severums are nearly 3". Leporinus is growing rapidly and is about 4" long and skinny. Gouramis are medium size-ish, about 2". Chalceus tetra is 3". T bars 2.5" or so.
