Wholesale/Discount To Public??

Does anyone know of any wholesale or discount or factory direct fish supply places that sell to the public? Or where does everyone get their fish supplies? I buy most of mine at walmart or places like petco, or sometimes my local ma and pa fishstore. This can be really expensive, and i was wondering if anyone had any secret places they get thing for cheap. Ya know like what plastic plants are actually worth! Thanks Niki

I've purchased all my equipment and supplies at a lfs. They sell their tanks at cost, as this starts a great relationship between customers and the store. I've been to only one other lfs in the area, and that was because I didn't want to wait until spring to get some java moss. Their prices on supplies seemed to be good for the most part. I know you could order items off the web for more, but I wanted to support the local business. The employees have been really helpful in picking out everything I need, and telling me things I don't need.

wish i had alocal pet store like you, mine is horrible, they know nothign about fish or fish supplies, many sick and dead fish in their tanks, and very high priced. now petco is about an hour away from me, atleast they have a clue what they are talking about lol, and their fish seem healthy. Thanks for your input

Big Al's online is the best I've seen for supplies. I've ordered a ton of stuff from them without any problems at all.

I hear Aquariumfish.net is a good place to order fish from, but I never have. Since I'm looking for some new cichlids, SAE's, and Amano shrimps, I may give them a try. The shipping cost is kind of high, but it doesn't matter how many fish you order.

I still do quite a bit of business with the local ma & pa stores here. I haven't forgot about them! Unfortunately, I'm about to stop going to one of them. The manager knows me well and I get great service, but the owner is pricing himself out of business, and won't follow up on special orders I place. If someone was wanting a couple hundred dollars in Discus, I'd polish their shoes before they walked out of my store.

for fish it depends on what kind you lookin for, only fish i buy online are african cichlids www.armkes.com , http://www.russutslersfish.com has the highest quality african cichlids wild caught and he takes very good care of fish also www.aquabid.com is a fish auction site very good for all types of fish
