Sorry, I am just excited...

I just picked up a 20 gallon tank and a 30 gallon tank from my brother-n-law...

All I gotta do now is build a nice stand for them since they will be in my living room on the opposite wall as my 72 gallon bow front. I plan on building a vertical stand for them with the 30 gallon the bottom and the 20 gallon on the top. Also gonna have to buy lights, 1 air pump to feed both, and a fiter for each tank.

I plan on breeding Cockatoo Dwarf Cichlid's in the 30...

*celebrate :D *BOUNCINGS *BOUNCINGS

that side of my living room is going to be very pleasing to the eye...

on the right hand wall is my 72 gallon tank
straight ahead is my 48" wide screen projection HDTV
also straight ahead is my home stereo/surround sound setup
the left hand wall will be my two new tanks

My living room has both my 55g and my 45g corner tank in it, of course I used to have my 55g, my 15g, and my 30g all in the living room...I think its a good spot for fish tanks. (as long as the fish are to shy)

Good luck with your tanks!

Thanx!!!

I agree about having them in the living room, sometimes I find my self sitting in my chair watching my fish more than the tv...

of course my wife doesnt know I am gonna move her curio cabinet to the other side of the living room to make a spot for the new tanks.... shhhhh!!!!

the crummy cam I borrowed from work doesnt do the tank justice. If you look close you can see my reflection in the back of the tank since I have a mirror as a background. Yes I bought this tank new..

I will try getting some clean pics of the fish as I want to since I want to create a website about my tanks, it will basically be pics and names of my fish..

unforuntaly i live in a flat so i cant keep my tanks in the living room (can just imagine some drunk sod trying to get the fish drunk or make them jump!!) So me and my partners bedroom now looks like a mini fish shop with my tanks on either side - only problem is now im running out of room (3 tanks on either side of the room!!!)

I really like the slate in your tank - my 70 gallon back wall is all slate and this moring I found one of the skunk botias hiding ina tiny crack!!

looks like a solid setup, Probaly 4x4 up the sides, and 2x4 as cross beams? I like that 55 gal. did you make that? Im thinking of haveing mine with that look to it. WIth the pine paneling acrosst the front. I really do like slate more and more as i see in others tanks. Now you got me thinking of slate backgrounds slate structures. :D BTW nice TV too!

55 gal?

my exist tank is a 72gal

my two new used ones are a 20 and a 30 (actual gal)

I figure the way the stand will be constructed that 4x4's wont be necessary since the 3/4" plywood is going to tie everything together. since the shelfs are sitting ontop of the corner posts there will be no shear at those points...

well, I finally talked to her about her curio cabinet after she asked why I was measuring the wall right there...

so I told here..

I found a better place for her curio cabinet that would make it more visible when you walk thru the front door. she liked that idea.

no sleeping in the dog house for me...
