I am not sure if I posted this or not, but several weeks ago while vaccuuming the 55G, I saw a blue streak dart away from the front of the tank. It was so small that I thought I was seeing things - but I was patient and sure enough, it came back. A tiny aqua blue cichlid - but from which fish I am not sure of.
It has been several weeks and I know that there are at least 6 of these dudes. I didn't see any spawning and I didn't notice anyone acting strange - like the convicts do when they are spawning (and when aren't they?).
None the less - I have 6 blue babies that are holding their own quite nicely, thank you.
That tank doesn't have anything special in it - outside of the bumblebee cichlid ther are a few pseudos or maybe there are haps - zebras? I have not been able to figure them out - even after staring at the atlas for hours. So I am pretty sure that these are hybrids, not to worry - not selling them. Not going to upset the purists.
