Why don't more people use Pond Filters?

I have just recently purchased a new 150 Gallon and was about to purchase 2filters for it but was struck when I looked at a pond filter that read
"5000GAL UV STERILIZER PRESSURE POND FILTER +800gph PUMP" for less then the two filters. It comes with 3 filter floss pads and Bio Balls. Now my question is there a reason why more people don't use them for large aquariums? Any drawbacks? ECT

Couldn't say as to why more people don't actually. But the LFS I worked at used pond filters sitting in a sump for smaller systems. Really it might take some doing depending on what style of pond filter it is but there's no reason one couldn't use them once everything is worked out.

One *possible* draw back is it might not be rated for as much head pressure as needed for your application. The seals used of those are only good for so much. Higher end pressurized filters will handle pretty well anything an aquarium can throw at it. Lower end ones might not. LOL, again... all depending on application ;)
